Mediterrranean Dialogues - ROME 2022

Italian Institute for International Political Studies
Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

1-2-3 December 2022

The Mediterranean Dialogues (MED) is an annual high-level initiative organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) in Rome. The aim is to create a new "positive agenda" to address shared challenges in the Mediterranean region and beyond. The event brings together over 1,000 international leaders, including Heads of State, ministers, business leaders, civil society, media, and academia. The event is built on four pillars: Shared Prosperity, Shared Security, Migration, and Civil Society and Culture. The Shared Prosperity pillar focuses on the role of business and civil society in fostering prosperity and political stability. The Shared Security pillar discusses strategies to avoid turmoil, fight terrorism, and promote successful post-conflict transitions. The Migration pillar encourages discussion on migration-related topics, such as safe and legal routes for asylum seekers and social inclusion. The Civil Society and Culture pillar acknowledges the unique cultural and historical heritage of the Mediterranean region. The ISPI is a non-partisan think tank providing research and policy options to government officials, business executives, and the public. It is the main forum for debate on international affairs in Italy and is the think tank representing Italy in the Think20.
